Mountain Bike Skills Clinics
Rise and Ride mountain bike program for beginner and intermediate riders.
All MTB coaches are certified coaches through the PMBIA (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association) or the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) along with being accomplished mountain bikers.
All are certified in Standard First Aid or higher such as Wilderness First -Aid.

Course Descriptions
GET OFF ROAD
This clinic is for anyone who has never been truly off-road on their mountain bike. You can ride a bike with confidence but, want to feel more comfortable off-road.
Skills covered in this course:
-
proper mountain bike body position
-
how to appropriate use your gearing and brakes
-
cornering
-
how to climb and descend small hills
-
appropriate trail selection
-
other basic trail riding skills
MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES:
This clinic is for anyone who has completed the "Get Off-Road" clinic or can comfortably perform the skills from that clinic. You can ride green and some easier blue trails with confidence but, want to feel more comfortable on blue trails.

INTERMEDIATE RIDING:
This clinic is for anyone who has completed the "Mountain Adventures" clinic or can comfortably perform the skills from that clinic. You can ride most blue trails but, want to increase your skills to take it to the next level.

Fall Mountain Adventures - 4 week progressive
September 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th 6 - 8pm (Bragg Creek)
$200

Girls Programs (ages 6 - 12 years)
This clinic is focused on fun and building skills on the mountain bike. We will teach proper mountain bike body position, how to appropriately use gearing and brakes, how to climb and descend small hills and other basic trail riding skills (including etiquette).
We will have multiple certified instructors who will take smaller groups based on riding ability (more experienced riders will continue to develop their skills).
All riders will ride and learn with those of their ability and have fun doing it!

Boys Programs (ages 6 - 12 years)
This clinic is focused on fun and building skills on the mountain bike. We will teach proper mountain bike body position, how to appropriately use gearing and brakes, how to climb and descend small hills and other basic trail riding skills (including etiquette). Jumps will NOT be covered.
We will have multiple certified instructors who will take smaller groups based on riding ability (more experienced riders will continue to develop their skills).
All riders will ride and learn with those of their ability and have fun doing it!

Private Lessons

$100 total for 1 - 3 riders

Rise and Ride Mountain Bike Mandatory Gear List
*most gear is available at Tri It Multisport (1703 10th Ave SW), or on their website at tri-it.ca
MOUNTAIN BIKE:
-
mountain Bike (no fat bikes or other bikes please) in working order. Please have a tune up PRIOR to the start of the first session.
-
bike helmet – fits properly and is no more than 5 years old
-
cycling shorts and bike jersey
-
a light Jacket
-
tire levers
-
a spare tube - even if your bike is set up with tubeless tires, it is a good idea to carry a tube as a backup.

Bike Pump or CO2 Inflator
-
a chain and a quicklink/masterlink
-
backpack to carry everything in with a hydration bladder
-
snacks and hydration - snacks are not only delicious, but they are essential to keep you riding at full speed all the way back to the parking lot
-
full charged cell phone
